IQFOiL INTERNATIONAL GAMES #3: COSTA HOEVEL WIRD BEIM ABSCHLUSS IN SILVAPLANA ZUM ERSTEN MASTERS-WELTMEISTER GEKRÖNT

The historic title went to Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG), who dominated the only day of racing by winning all five races to become the inaugural iQFOiL Masters World Champion. Fellow Argentine Fernando Martínez del Cerro secured second place, while Poland's Pawe? Diettrich completed the podium in third.

The U19 Men's fleet was won by Charlie Baker (GBR), whose excellent performance throughout the week earned him victory at the third 2026 iQFOiL Youth & Junior International Games. Hungary celebrated a double podium, with brothers Yoan Gyorváry and Luca Gyorváry finishing second and third respectively.

In the U19 Women's fleet, Switzerland's Ernestine Inversin claimed victory on home waters. She was joined on the podium by Kelsy Loryin Moreno in second place and fellow Swiss sailor Chloé Favre in third.

The U17 Boys title went to Hau Shing Kie (HKG) after an impressive week that saw him edge out France's Tom Pringuer, who finished second overall. Switzerland's Tim Jaquet completed the podium in third.

The U17 Girls fleet was dominated by Spain's Marta Dale, whose outstanding performances throughout the event secured her a well-deserved victory. Germany's Sunny Liebig claimed second place, while Switzerland's Alina Durrer rounded out the podium in third.

Although the final day did not deliver the hoped-for Maloja breeze, the 2026 edition of Vanora Engadinwind once again showcased Silvaplana as one of the world's premier venues for foiling, bringing together Masters and Youth & Junior athletes in a unique celebration of the sport.

The action in the Engadin is far from over. Racing resumes on Monday with the iQFOiL Last Chance Qualifier for the senior fleets, where athletes will have one final opportunity to earn their place at the season's major championships.
